New Roof Construction
Needing a Professional roofing contractor? Trust our experts.
Why It Matters
Your Roof Is the Most Important System in Your Home
A properly constructed roof does more than keep rain out. It controls attic ventilation, manages moisture, supports your home’s structural load, and directly affects energy costs. In the Houston area — where high humidity, tropical storms, and 100°F summers are routine — cutting corners during installation leads to premature failure, mold growth, and costly repairs within just a few years.
All Out Roofing specializes exclusively in residential roofing. That singular focus means every crew member, supervisor, and project manager understands the specific challenges of building roofs in the Gulf Coast climate. We don’t treat roofing as a side service — it’s all we do, and we do it at the highest standard.
Who We Serve
New Construction Roofing for Builders & Homeowners
Whether you’re a homeowner building a custom home, a general contractor managing a development, or a production homebuilder on a deadline, we adapt our process to fit your project. We work directly with GCs on scheduling, material coordination, and code compliance so the roofing phase never becomes a bottleneck.
If you’re building a custom home with your own general contractor, let them know you want All Out Roofing handling the roof. We’ll coordinate directly with their team on timeline, materials, and inspections — and we’ll make sure the finished product meets our standards, not just the minimum code requirements.
Materials & Systems
Roofing Materials We Install on New Construction
We help you choose the right roofing system based on your home’s architecture, your budget, and how long you plan to stay in the home. Every material we install comes from manufacturers we trust and have vetted over years of Gulf Coast installations.
Asphalt Architectural Shingles
The most popular choice for Houston-area homes. Architectural (dimensional) shingles offer a layered, textured look and typically carry 30-year to lifetime manufacturer warranties. We install GAF, Owens Corning, and CertainTeed systems and can help you qualify for extended warranty coverage through certified installer programs.
Standing Seam Metal Roofing
The gold standard for residential metal roofing. Standing seam panels interlock along raised vertical seams, creating a continuous, watertight surface with no exposed fasteners. Because the fasteners are hidden beneath the seam, there are no screw holes exposed to weather — dramatically reducing the risk of leaks over time. This is the system we recommend most often for Houston-area homes.
Concrete & Clay Tile
A premium option that suits Mediterranean, Spanish, and Southwest-style architecture. Tile roofs are extremely durable — often lasting 50+ years — and provide superior thermal mass, keeping your home cooler in summer. We ensure the roof deck and underlayment are engineered to support the additional weight tile requires.
Flat & Low-Slope Systems
For sections of your home with a low pitch — covered patios, modern flat-roof designs, or garage additions — we install TPO, modified bitumen, and built-up roofing systems. Proper drainage design is critical in Houston’s heavy rain events, and we engineer slope and scupper placement accordingly.
Corrugated Metal Panels
Corrugated metal roofing uses exposed-fastener panels with a classic ribbed profile. It’s a cost-effective entry point into metal roofing and works especially well for farmhouse, agricultural, Hill Country, and rustic home designs. While corrugated panels do use exposed screws (which require periodic inspection), modern neoprene washers and factory coatings have significantly improved the longevity of these fasteners.
Stone-Coated Steel
Stone-coated steel tiles combine the strength of a steel base with a factory-applied layer of ceramic-coated stone granules. The result is a metal roof that looks like slate, clay tile, or wood shake — but weighs a fraction of the real thing and withstands wind, hail, and fire far better. This is an excellent choice for homeowners who want the durability of metal with a traditional aesthetic.
Metal Shingles
Metal shingles are individual stamped panels that replicate the look of traditional asphalt shingles, cedar shake, or slate at a fraction of the weight. They install similarly to conventional shingles — overlapping in courses — but interlock together for superior wind resistance. Metal shingles are a good option for homeowners who want to upgrade from asphalt without changing the overall look of their home.
Our Process
How We Build Your New Roof — Step by Step
Every new roof installation follows a documented process designed around quality control and clear communication. Here’s what to expect when you work with All Out Roofing.
1
Initial Consultation & Site Assessment
We review your architectural plans (or visit the job site if framing is already up), measure the roof area, evaluate pitch and complexity, and discuss your material preferences. This consultation is always free.
2
Detailed Written Proposal
You receive an itemized proposal that breaks down materials, underlayment, flashing, ventilation components, labor, and warranty details — no vague line items or hidden fees. We explain what we’re installing and why.
3
Material Ordering & Scheduling
Once approved, we coordinate material delivery with your GC’s construction timeline. We stock materials from local distributors so there are no long lead times that delay your build.
4
Supervised Installation
Our crews work under an on-site supervisor at all times — not remotely managed from across town. The supervisor verifies deck preparation, underlayment overlap, flashing placement at every penetration, drip edge installation, and proper nailing patterns before shingles or panels go down.
5
Final Inspection & Cleanup
After installation, we conduct our own internal quality inspection before the city inspector arrives. We also run a magnetic sweep for stray nails, remove all debris, and leave the site clean. You receive a warranty packet with product registrations and maintenance guidance.
Why All Out Roofing
What Sets Us Apart from Other Houston Roofers
There are hundreds of roofing companies in the greater Houston area. Many of them are storm-chasers who appear after a hurricane and disappear a few months later. All Out Roofing is a locally owned, year-round operation with deep roots in this community.
On-Site Supervision on Every Job: A dedicated supervisor is present during every phase of your installation — not just a crew leader, but a project supervisor who reports directly to ownership.
Transparent, Itemized Pricing: Our proposals break down every cost. You see exactly what materials you’re getting, how much labor is involved, and what warranty coverage is included.
Workmanship Warranty: Beyond the manufacturer’s material warranty, we provide our own workmanship warranty covering all labor. If something goes wrong because of installation, we fix it at no cost.
Fast, Responsive Communication: The most common complaint about contractors is poor communication. We prioritize same-day responses to calls and emails, and we keep you updated at every stage of the project.

Built for the Gulf Coast
Roofing Engineered for Houston’s Climate
Houston sits in one of the most demanding climate zones for residential roofing in the country. Between June and November, the Gulf Coast faces tropical storms and hurricanes that can produce sustained winds above 100 mph. The rest of the year, intense UV exposure and 90%+ humidity put constant stress on roofing materials.
These conditions mean that a roof installed to “minimum code” often isn’t enough. All Out Roofing goes beyond code by using enhanced underlayment systems, six-nail patterns on shingles (instead of the standard four), and upgraded flashing details around valleys, chimneys, skylights, and pipe penetrations. We also ensure proper ridge and soffit ventilation to prevent moisture buildup in the attic — the leading cause of premature shingle deterioration in humid climates.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common Questions About New Roof Construction
How long does it take to install a new roof on a new construction home?
Most single-family residential roofs take between two and five days to install, depending on the size of the home, the complexity of the roof design (number of valleys, hips, dormers, etc.), and the material being installed. Metal roofs and tile roofs typically take longer than asphalt shingle roofs. We coordinate scheduling with your general contractor so the roofing phase fits within your overall build timeline.
What roofing material is best for the Houston area?
Architectural asphalt shingles are the most common and cost-effective choice for Houston homes. They perform well in heat and humidity when paired with proper ventilation and quality underlayment. Standing seam metal roofing is an excellent upgrade for homeowners who want maximum wind resistance and longevity. We’ll help you weigh cost, aesthetics, and performance during your consultation.
Do you work directly with general contractors and homebuilders?
Yes. A large portion of our work comes through partnerships with general contractors and production homebuilders. We handle scheduling coordination, material delivery, code compliance, and city inspections so the roofing phase runs smoothly within your larger construction timeline.
What is included in your workmanship warranty?
Our workmanship warranty covers all labor and installation-related issues. If a leak or problem occurs because of how the roof was installed — as opposed to a defective product — we repair it at no charge. The specific warranty term is outlined in your proposal. This is in addition to the manufacturer’s warranty on the roofing materials themselves.
Can I choose my own roofing material, or do you recommend one?
Both. If you already have a material in mind — or if your architect has specified one — we’ll install it. If you’re undecided, we’ll walk you through the options during your consultation based on your home’s design, your budget, and how long you plan to own the home.
How much does a new roof cost on new construction?
New construction roof costs in the Houston area typically range from $8,000 to $25,000+ depending on the size of the home, the roofing material selected, and the complexity of the roof design. We provide detailed, itemized estimates at no cost — contact us for a free proposal specific to your project.
