Jon grew up as the middle of seven children in Norman, OK. Jon started attending the University of Oklahoma in fall of 2004 majoring in mechanical engineering. Jon met his future wife while playing softball in Norman in a coed church league. They got married in 2008. Jon graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in mechanical engineering in 2009, Jon has a green belt in lean six sigma and having passed the fundamentals of engineering exam to become a registered EIT. Upon graduation, Jon moved to Duncan, and had their first child (Ava), and started working as a field engineer in the oilfield for Halliburton Energy Services. Jon spent 4 years in the field with Halliburton and then had their second (Matthew) and third (Emilia) children before becoming a Technical Instructor for the engineering program teaching fluid mechanics, equipment operations, and theoretic and analytical fracture mechanics.
After 2 1/2 years as an instructor, Jon broke from the petroleum industry and became a Design Engineer in Norman OK for MEP Associates designing plumbing and HVAC systems for local commercial applications (mainly school renovations and add ons in the Moore Norman area). While working as an engineer, we had our 4th child (Jess’s). In May of 2017, Jon made the huge switch to residential roofing for a local reputable exterior contractor. Jon and his wife had previously discussed traveling with the kids for a period, and the opportunity presented itself to work in a variety of areas. Therefore, Jon took the opportunity to delve deep into the industry and gain experience in different climates and how it pertains to roof applications. Jon and family hit the road, and worked in the Dallas market, South Texas market, specifically in a hurricane region, at 10,000 of elevation in Woodland Park CO, Colorado Spring, CO and the panhandle of Florida (hurricane zone). While in each location, Jon became more familiar with, qualified, and completed all training and licensing requirements to install roofs in some of the most demanding geographical areas of the United States. With the news of their 5th child, Jon and his wife made the decision to move back to Norman close to family and set roots with a company Jon and a friend had opened while traveling. Further plans involve becoming a board certified Professional Engineer in structural engineering.
I started framing house and roofing when I was 15 yrs old in Florida. When I graduated high school I was offered a scholarship and decided I didn’t want to go back to school. Trench technician offered me a job and I started at the bottom and worked my way to the top. Within a year I was their lead Forman . I was there lead guy for 3 years . Then I received a job offer in Tennessee working for a chemical plant . I worked there 4 days a week and on my days off I did remodels and roofing. 2 years later I received a job offer from a very larger roofing and construction company in Oklahoma, that was 2009. I was hired on as a sales rep and after 3 months they asked if I’d take the project manager position. I accepted. Since then, I have made Oklahoma my home and met and married my wife and we have 3 beautiful children. I am laying the foundation for them to carry on our legacy for many years to come.
